A large potash surge bin was suspended by 24 wire ropes fastened to the mine roof. Load monitors were needed to ensure each rope was equally loaded to maintain balance. Working with their engineers, Massload designed, prototyped and manufactured 24 custom through-hole load cells to sense the load under the bin flange at each rope with built-in 4-20mA signalling to the PLC.
