Sluice gates can become jammed over time and opening them may overload the wire rope retraction system. Massload offers heavy duty industrial dead line sensors which monitor the rope tension and alerts the system if there is an overload situation. These dead end load sensors are equipped with 4-20mA outputs to interface directly to a PLC system.
Load pins are also a solution offered for measuring wire rope tension.
