Aurora 45 SL Remote Display
The Western Scale Aurora 45 SL is a 4.5″ (114 mm) outdoor LED remote display with a built-in 5″ (127 mm) red/green traffic light, visible over 250 ft (76 m). It shares the same hardware and software platform as the Aurora 45 and 65, adding integrated stop/go vehicle flow control for truck scales and weighing stations.

The Aurora 45 SL combines the full feature set of the Aurora 45 with an integrated 5″ (127 mm) red/green traffic light — saving the cost and complexity of a separate traffic light installation. With 4.5″ (114 mm) LED digits visible over 250 ft (76 m), it is purpose-built for truck scale facilities, vehicle weighing stations, and any application where weight display and vehicle flow control need to work together.
The traffic light can be controlled via serial commands (wired or wireless), hard-wired manual switches (electrical or mechanical), or pre-installed utility programs — giving operators full flexibility in how the stop/go signal is triggered. Like all Aurora displays, the 45 SL features Auto-Learn Technology for connection to any scale indicator, and supports RS 232, RS 422, RS 485, 20 mA current loop, and optional wireless RF communication.
Pre-installed utility programs include axle weighing, traffic light control, hold weight, and more. A built-in relay remotely controls additional external traffic lights. Selectable day and night brightness, mirrored display mode, multi-drop for up to 8 displays per serial connection, and stainless steel enclosure options are all available.
Most Common Applications: Truck and axle scale facilities, vehicle weighing stations requiring stop/go control, recycling and waste management facilities, loading dock access control, agricultural grain scale operations.

NBSCIA purchased a four piece set of Ultraslim LCD to allow two axle weighing. Staff could transport the Ultraslims in their personal vehicles.
Units were easy to level and the digital key pad was easy to read, even in sunlight.
NBSCIA found the scales to be accurate compared to harvest yield monitors and highway scales.
For NBSCIA's purpose to check crop yield and estimate tones of manure applied and fertilizer application on test plots the Ultraslim LCD proved to be the best choice.

I wanted to pass on a thank-you from my customer EMS-Tech. Specifically to Marc but also to the others at Massload that were involved but I didn't deal with directly.
Last fall EMS-Tech bought a pair of custom ML-700s to measure cable tension for the winches that manipulate the loading spout at a grain terminal.
All was going well until about 5 weeks ago, when an operator at the terminal bypassed the safety mechanism, overloaded and broke the tension link as well as some other equipment. EMS-Tech has been under a lot of pressure from their customer to put the grain terminal back into service ASAP.
Marc & Massload made every effort to ensure that the custom ML-700 was delivered on time as promised.
Originally, the ML-700 was to be shipped via UPS Express but when Marc found out that UPS could not guarantee delivery, he hand delivered the equipment to Fedex. This saved at least two days and provided the time needed to configure & calibrate the electronics before handing the equipment over to EMS-Tech for installation and commissioning.

We purchased a set of axle pads several years ago and they are very accurate and convenient. When one of the load cells failed, ( I suspect operator abuse, truck slamming on the brakes) Ryan in tech support was amazingly patient, professional and helpful in the diagnostic process. He went above and beyond to help us get the problem resolved.
Our scale was up and running very quickly and is a very useful tool on our farm again.
*Just a side note, the more picky you are regarding the ground work under and ramps leading on and off the pads the more accurate they’ll be. We put a concrete pad underneath them and a level approach and departure ramp for weighing super B’s and are within 10-40 kg consistently of all the other certified scales in our area.
