Load Shackles

Load shackles place a calibrated sensor inside a standard rigging shackle, capturing real-time tension as the load passes through. They are used in crane load monitoring, rigging, and offshore work.

What our customers say

Massload Load Shackles

Massload Load Shackles are built from the highest-quality materials and manufactured through our specialized, VCAP-certified Quality Management System. Our in-house engineering team works with you to develop a load shackle that meets your exact requirements.

Designed using the latest 3D modeling and finite element analysis (FEA), our Load Shackles are based on the industry-standard Crosby bolt-type shackle.

Each shackle is fitted with a wire lock pin for fast assembly and disassembly, is internally gauged, and is made from traceable, high-quality US or European stainless steel. All units are calibrated in-house.

Outputs

The Wireless Load Shackles feature 2.4 GHz wireless transmitters with an internal antenna sealed inside a rugged enclosure, so the antenna can’t be damaged by rough handling. The transmitter runs on 2 AA batteries and enters sleep mode when not in use, extending battery life to the equivalent of over 500 hours of continuous use. The signal is robust, delivering an open-field range of up to 2,000 ft (610 m) at a height of 3 m (10 ft).

The T24 transmits load data to a range of T24 wireless readout options, including the WL-T24-HS single-channel handheld LCD display, the WL-T24-HA 12-channel handheld LCD display, the WL-T24-BSu base station for data capture on PC, and the WL-T24-AO1i for wireless interfacing to a 4–20 mA PLC input.

Industries

Common applications include vehicle road rescue and towing, load lifting, boat lifting, and line tension measurement.

Custom Options

Custom Load Shackles are available and can be designed to meet industrial safety factors of up to 1,000% overload protection. Millivolt output or signal conditioning using a 4–20 mA output for PLC interface is also available.
