The Western Scale Aurora 45 is a super bright 4.5″ (114 mm) outdoor LED remote display with a viewing range of over 250 ft (76 m), Auto-Learn Technology, and five standard communication protocols. One of the most popular remote displays in North America, it is built for demanding industrial and outdoor weighing environments.

The Aurora 45 is a field-proven, high-visibility remote display designed for the full range of industrial and outdoor weighing applications. With 4.5″ (114 mm) ultra-efficient LED digits readable at over 250 ft (76 m), it delivers unmistakable weight readout at truck scales, loading docks, recycling facilities, and warehouse floors — even in direct sunlight, foul weather, and across wide viewing angles.
Auto-Learn Technology means the Aurora 45 connects to any scale indicator without manual configuration — it automatically detects baud rate, data bits, parity, stop bits, and indicator output strings. Five communication protocols are supported: RS-232, RS-422, RS-485 multi-drop, and 20 mA current loop (active and passive), with an optional wireless RF module for cable-free installations.
Pre-installed utility programs include axle weighing, hold weight, and more. Selectable day and night brightness, a power save mode, and a non-glare lens round out the feature set. Stainless steel enclosure options are available.
Most Common Applications: Truck and axle scales, loading dock displays, grain and agriculture scales, industrial process weighing, outdoor and vehicle weighing stations.

NBSCIA purchased a four piece set of Ultraslim LCD to allow two axle weighing. Staff could transport the Ultraslims in their personal vehicles.
Units were easy to level and the digital key pad was easy to read, even in sunlight.
NBSCIA found the scales to be accurate compared to harvest yield monitors and highway scales.
For NBSCIA's purpose to check crop yield and estimate tones of manure applied and fertilizer application on test plots the Ultraslim LCD proved to be the best choice.

I wanted to pass on a thank-you from my customer EMS-Tech. Specifically to Marc but also to the others at Massload that were involved but I didn't deal with directly.
Last fall EMS-Tech bought a pair of custom ML-700s to measure cable tension for the winches that manipulate the loading spout at a grain terminal.
All was going well until about 5 weeks ago, when an operator at the terminal bypassed the safety mechanism, overloaded and broke the tension link as well as some other equipment. EMS-Tech has been under a lot of pressure from their customer to put the grain terminal back into service ASAP.
Marc & Massload made every effort to ensure that the custom ML-700 was delivered on time as promised.
Originally, the ML-700 was to be shipped via UPS Express but when Marc found out that UPS could not guarantee delivery, he hand delivered the equipment to Fedex. This saved at least two days and provided the time needed to configure & calibrate the electronics before handing the equipment over to EMS-Tech for installation and commissioning.

We purchased a set of axle pads several years ago and they are very accurate and convenient. When one of the load cells failed, ( I suspect operator abuse, truck slamming on the brakes) Ryan in tech support was amazingly patient, professional and helpful in the diagnostic process. He went above and beyond to help us get the problem resolved.
Our scale was up and running very quickly and is a very useful tool on our farm again.
*Just a side note, the more picky you are regarding the ground work under and ramps leading on and off the pads the more accurate they’ll be. We put a concrete pad underneath them and a level approach and departure ramp for weighing super B’s and are within 10-40 kg consistently of all the other certified scales in our area.
