Aurora 20 Remote Display
The Western Scale Aurora 20 is a compact 2″ (51 mm) indoor/outdoor LED remote display with a viewing range of over 50 ft (15 m), Auto-Learn Technology, and 5 input communication protocols. Housed in a weatherproof mild steel enclosure, it is ideal for tight spaces such as processing facilities, lift truck applications, and on-board weighing.

The Aurora 20 brings all the sophistication of larger Aurora displays into one of the most compact remote display enclosures available. With 2″ (51 mm) ultra-efficient LED digits and a viewing range of over 50 ft (15 m), it delivers clear weight readout in crowded Original Equipment Manufacturer (Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM)) and processing environments where larger displays simply will not fit.
Auto-Learn Technology eliminates manual setup — the Aurora 20 automatically detects the baud rate, data bits, parity, stop bits, and output string of any connected scale indicator without pressing a single button or setting a dip switch. Five standard communication protocols are supported: RS-232, RS-422, RS-485 multi-drop, and 20 mA current loop (active and passive). A wireless RF option is also available for installations where cabling is not practical.
The weatherproof mild steel enclosure with powder coat finish and breather vent prevents condensation buildup, and selectable indoor and outdoor brightness modes keep the display clearly readable in any lighting condition. An operating temperature range of -40°F to 120°F (-40°C to 50°C) makes it equally reliable in cold storage and outdoor installations.
Most Common Applications: Original Equipment Manufacturer (Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM)) and processing floor displays, lift truck and on-board weighing, compact bench scale readouts, indoor warehouse and retail weigh station displays, counter-mounted indicators.

NBSCIA purchased a four piece set of Ultraslim LCD to allow two axle weighing. Staff could transport the Ultraslims in their personal vehicles.
Units were easy to level and the digital key pad was easy to read, even in sunlight.
NBSCIA found the scales to be accurate compared to harvest yield monitors and highway scales.
For NBSCIA's purpose to check crop yield and estimate tones of manure applied and fertilizer application on test plots the Ultraslim LCD proved to be the best choice.

I wanted to pass on a thank-you from my customer EMS-Tech. Specifically to Marc but also to the others at Massload that were involved but I didn't deal with directly.
Last fall EMS-Tech bought a pair of custom ML-700s to measure cable tension for the winches that manipulate the loading spout at a grain terminal.
All was going well until about 5 weeks ago, when an operator at the terminal bypassed the safety mechanism, overloaded and broke the tension link as well as some other equipment. EMS-Tech has been under a lot of pressure from their customer to put the grain terminal back into service ASAP.
Marc & Massload made every effort to ensure that the custom ML-700 was delivered on time as promised.
Originally, the ML-700 was to be shipped via UPS Express but when Marc found out that UPS could not guarantee delivery, he hand delivered the equipment to Fedex. This saved at least two days and provided the time needed to configure & calibrate the electronics before handing the equipment over to EMS-Tech for installation and commissioning.

We purchased a set of axle pads several years ago and they are very accurate and convenient. When one of the load cells failed, ( I suspect operator abuse, truck slamming on the brakes) Ryan in tech support was amazingly patient, professional and helpful in the diagnostic process. He went above and beyond to help us get the problem resolved.
Our scale was up and running very quickly and is a very useful tool on our farm again.
*Just a side note, the more picky you are regarding the ground work under and ramps leading on and off the pads the more accurate they’ll be. We put a concrete pad underneath them and a level approach and departure ramp for weighing super B’s and are within 10-40 kg consistently of all the other certified scales in our area.
