WLIGHT Compact Weight Indicator
The Laumas WLIGHT is a compact ABS weight indicator with a 6-digit red LED display, RS-232 communication via Modbus RTU, NTEP Class III/IIIL approval, and UL recognition for the United States and Canada. Designed for straightforward commercial and light industrial weighing applications where simplicity, portability, and certified accuracy are the primary requirements.
PRODUCT DETAILS
The WLIGHT is a no-frills, practical weight indicator from Laumas designed for installations where a simple, certified, and compact desktop readout is all that is required. Its ABS enclosure installs on a desk, wall, or column using the optional stainless steel bracket or ABS column support, keeping the footprint minimal in space-limited environments such as retail counters, small receiving stations, and laboratory benchtops.
The 6-digit red LED display (20 mm height) with 8 signalling LEDs provides clear, at-a-glance weight readings. RS-232 communication with Modbus RTU, ASCII Laumas, and continuous transmission protocols allows the WLIGHT to connect to printers, PCs, and remote displays – covering the most common peripheral requirements for a simple weighing station.
Up to eight 350 Ω load cells can be connected in parallel via a junction box, supporting a wide range of platform and floor scale configurations. Piece counting and weight totalizing functions extend basic weighing capability for light production and inventory tasks. An optional 8-cell NiMH battery pack (not included) provides approximately 16 hours of portable operation for temporary deployments and field use. Configuration is managed via the front-panel keypad or the free Laumas Instrument Manager PC software. NTEP Class III/IIIL (10,000 divisions) and UL recognition for the United States and Canada provide legal-for-trade coverage in commercial weighing applications.
Most Common Applications: Small commercial platform and bench scales, retail and food service weighing,laboratory process weighing, portable field weighing with optional battery.

NBSCIA purchased a four piece set of Ultraslim LCD to allow two axle weighing. Staff could transport the Ultraslims in their personal vehicles.
Units were easy to level and the digital key pad was easy to read, even in sunlight.
NBSCIA found the scales to be accurate compared to harvest yield monitors and highway scales.
For NBSCIA's purpose to check crop yield and estimate tones of manure applied and fertilizer application on test plots the Ultraslim LCD proved to be the best choice.

I wanted to pass on a thank-you from my customer EMS-Tech. Specifically to Marc but also to the others at Massload that were involved but I didn't deal with directly.
Last fall EMS-Tech bought a pair of custom ML-700s to measure cable tension for the winches that manipulate the loading spout at a grain terminal.
All was going well until about 5 weeks ago, when an operator at the terminal bypassed the safety mechanism, overloaded and broke the tension link as well as some other equipment. EMS-Tech has been under a lot of pressure from their customer to put the grain terminal back into service ASAP.
Marc & Massload made every effort to ensure that the custom ML-700 was delivered on time as promised.
Originally, the ML-700 was to be shipped via UPS Express but when Marc found out that UPS could not guarantee delivery, he hand delivered the equipment to Fedex. This saved at least two days and provided the time needed to configure & calibrate the electronics before handing the equipment over to EMS-Tech for installation and commissioning.

We purchased a set of axle pads several years ago and they are very accurate and convenient. When one of the load cells failed, ( I suspect operator abuse, truck slamming on the brakes) Ryan in tech support was amazingly patient, professional and helpful in the diagnostic process. He went above and beyond to help us get the problem resolved.
Our scale was up and running very quickly and is a very useful tool on our farm again.
*Just a side note, the more picky you are regarding the ground work under and ramps leading on and off the pads the more accurate they’ll be. We put a concrete pad underneath them and a level approach and departure ramp for weighing super B’s and are within 10-40 kg consistently of all the other certified scales in our area.
