WDESK-L Desktop Weighing & Batching Indicator
The Laumas WDESK-L is a versatile ABS desktop weight indicator and batching controller with a 6-digit backlit LCD, IP67 protection, RS-485/RS-232 and optional WiFi and fieldbus communications and NTEP Class III/IIIL approval. Available in BASE, LOAD, UNLOAD, 3/6/14 PRODUCTS, and Multiprogram versions for flexible deployment in weighing and automated batching environments.
PRODUCT DETAILS
The WDESK-L is a compact, versatile desktop weight indicator and batching controller that bridges the gap between DIN-mounted indicators. Its ABS enclosure with IP67 protection is suitable for desk, wall, column, and front-panel mounting, covering a broad range of installation scenarios from laboratory benchtops to light industrial control rooms. The 6-digit backlit LCD display with 46 signalling symbols provides clear, information-rich readings.
An optional WiFi module enables remote supervision, management and control of the indicator via web server – valuable for process lines where the indicator is not easily accessible. The WDESK-L supports a comprehensive suite of batching programs, including 99 settable formulas, automatic fall calculation, tolerance error control, precision batching, and consumption storage. Piece counting and weight totalizing in the BASE program extend its usefulness beyond pure batching into check-weighing and inventory management. A battery option providing 16 hours of portable operation makes it suitable for temporary installations and field inspections. NTEP Class III/IIIL and UL recognition support certified legal-for-trade use in North American markets.

NBSCIA purchased a four piece set of Ultraslim LCD to allow two axle weighing. Staff could transport the Ultraslims in their personal vehicles.
Units were easy to level and the digital key pad was easy to read, even in sunlight.
NBSCIA found the scales to be accurate compared to harvest yield monitors and highway scales.
For NBSCIA's purpose to check crop yield and estimate tones of manure applied and fertilizer application on test plots the Ultraslim LCD proved to be the best choice.

I wanted to pass on a thank-you from my customer EMS-Tech. Specifically to Marc but also to the others at Massload that were involved but I didn't deal with directly.
Last fall EMS-Tech bought a pair of custom ML-700s to measure cable tension for the winches that manipulate the loading spout at a grain terminal.
All was going well until about 5 weeks ago, when an operator at the terminal bypassed the safety mechanism, overloaded and broke the tension link as well as some other equipment. EMS-Tech has been under a lot of pressure from their customer to put the grain terminal back into service ASAP.
Marc & Massload made every effort to ensure that the custom ML-700 was delivered on time as promised.
Originally, the ML-700 was to be shipped via UPS Express but when Marc found out that UPS could not guarantee delivery, he hand delivered the equipment to Fedex. This saved at least two days and provided the time needed to configure & calibrate the electronics before handing the equipment over to EMS-Tech for installation and commissioning.

We purchased a set of axle pads several years ago and they are very accurate and convenient. When one of the load cells failed, ( I suspect operator abuse, truck slamming on the brakes) Ryan in tech support was amazingly patient, professional and helpful in the diagnostic process. He went above and beyond to help us get the problem resolved.
Our scale was up and running very quickly and is a very useful tool on our farm again.
*Just a side note, the more picky you are regarding the ground work under and ramps leading on and off the pads the more accurate they’ll be. We put a concrete pad underneath them and a level approach and departure ramp for weighing super B’s and are within 10-40 kg consistently of all the other certified scales in our area.
