TLB Weight Transmitter
The Laumas TLB is a compact DIN-rail weight transmitter with a single load cell, a 6-digit LED display, and support for up to 8 load cells. NTEP and Measurement Canada approved for legal-for-trade use, it communicates via RS485 and supports multiple fieldbus options.
PRODUCT DETAILS
The TLB is a versatile, space-saving weight transmitter designed for DIN-rail mounting in control cabinets. Its slim vertical profile makes it the practical choice when panel real estate is at a premium, while its 24-bit A/D converter and up to 300 conversions per second deliver the precision and speed required in dynamic industrial weighing applications.
With NTEP (nmax 5000, Class III) and Measurement Canada approval, the TLB is a certified legal-for-trade instrument for commercial weighing in both the United States and Canada – making it suitable for retail trade scales, vehicle weighing, and regulated process weighing. It connects to PLCs via a 16-bit optoisolated analog output or through any of its available fieldbus options: Modbus RTU, Modbus TCP, Ethernet/IP, PROFINET IO, Profibus DP, EtherCAT, CANopen, DeviceNet, CC-Link, POWERLINK, SERCOS III, EtherCAT, and Ethernet TCP/IP.
The TLB supports up to 8 load cells in parallel via a junction box, real and theoretical & real calibration up to 8 linearization points, gross weight zero tracking, semi-automatic tare and zero, preset tare, and peak weight display. Configuration and management are handled via the free Instrument Manager PC software.
Most Common Applications: Platform and floor scales, conveyor scales, tank and silo weighing, filling and batching systems, commercial trade scales, process control and automation.

NBSCIA purchased a four piece set of Ultraslim LCD to allow two axle weighing. Staff could transport the Ultraslims in their personal vehicles.
Units were easy to level and the digital key pad was easy to read, even in sunlight.
NBSCIA found the scales to be accurate compared to harvest yield monitors and highway scales.
For NBSCIA's purpose to check crop yield and estimate tones of manure applied and fertilizer application on test plots the Ultraslim LCD proved to be the best choice.

I wanted to pass on a thank-you from my customer EMS-Tech. Specifically to Marc but also to the others at Massload that were involved but I didn't deal with directly.
Last fall EMS-Tech bought a pair of custom ML-700s to measure cable tension for the winches that manipulate the loading spout at a grain terminal.
All was going well until about 5 weeks ago, when an operator at the terminal bypassed the safety mechanism, overloaded and broke the tension link as well as some other equipment. EMS-Tech has been under a lot of pressure from their customer to put the grain terminal back into service ASAP.
Marc & Massload made every effort to ensure that the custom ML-700 was delivered on time as promised.
Originally, the ML-700 was to be shipped via UPS Express but when Marc found out that UPS could not guarantee delivery, he hand delivered the equipment to Fedex. This saved at least two days and provided the time needed to configure & calibrate the electronics before handing the equipment over to EMS-Tech for installation and commissioning.

We purchased a set of axle pads several years ago and they are very accurate and convenient. When one of the load cells failed, ( I suspect operator abuse, truck slamming on the brakes) Ryan in tech support was amazingly patient, professional and helpful in the diagnostic process. He went above and beyond to help us get the problem resolved.
Our scale was up and running very quickly and is a very useful tool on our farm again.
*Just a side note, the more picky you are regarding the ground work under and ramps leading on and off the pads the more accurate they’ll be. We put a concrete pad underneath them and a level approach and departure ramp for weighing super B’s and are within 10-40 kg consistently of all the other certified scales in our area.
