The Laumas MTL7761ac is a 2-channel passive Zener signal barrier for load cell/scale signal circuits in ATEX and IECEx certified hazardous areas. Each channel provides Uo = 9 V, Io = 100 mA, Po = 225 mW. DIN/Omega rail mounting with extractable screw terminals.
The MTL7761Pac is a passive intrinsic safety Zener barrier designed to protect scale/load cell signal circuits in hazardous locations – including gas (Zone 0,1,2), & dust (Zone 20,21,22), Class I, II, III Div 1. Zener barriers work by diverting fault voltages to ground through low-resistance Zener diodes and fuses, preventing sparks and overheating of the scale components in the hazardous area.
The MTL7761ac handles the signal side of a load cell circuit, passing the millivolt output from the load cell/scale or junction box through the barrier to the safe-area weight indicator, transmitter, or signal conditioner. Its 2-channel configuration covers the positive and negative signal lines of a single load cell bridge output. It is used in combination with the MTL7766Pac power supply barrier, which delivers safe-area DC power through to the load cells. Together, the two barriers form a complete, certified intrinsically safe load cell interface for weighing systems in oil and gas, , Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), grain handling, and mining hazardous area installations..
