MAX Multi-Powered Weight Indicator
The Western Scale MAX is a portable LCD weight indicator with three power modes: AC power, 12 V DC battery terminal, and D-cell batteries – combined with DYNArrest vibration filtering and NTEP Class III/IIIL and Measurement Canada Class III/IIIHD approval. Designed for mobile and dynamic weighing applications where versatility and field reliability are essential.

The MAX LCD indicator is engineered for mobile, field, and dynamic weighing applications where power availability cannot be guaranteed, and ruggedness is non-negotiable. Its three power modes – standard 100 to 240 VAC, 12 V DC battery terminal (for vehicle-mounted or trailer use), and four D-cell alkaline batteries – give operators the flexibility to deploy it in virtually any setting, from portable axle pad scales in agricultural fields to trade-certified floor scales in remote receiving areas.
The PowerMax operating system intelligently extends battery life for longer uninterrupted use in the field. An adjustable LED backlight ensures clear readability in both outdoor daylight and dim interior environments. The DYNArrest Vibration Filtering System offers sophisticated filtering algorithms & display modes offers the best solution to deliver stable readings quickly. Shrinkage, averaging, and peak hold functions add analytical capability for livestock, agriculture, and material handling workflows.
A programmable serial port, weigh tickets, and macros round out a feature set that matches many fixed-installation indicators despite the portable form factor.
Most Common Applications: Portable axle pad and truck scales, mobile livestock and grain scales, field-deployed commercial weighing, remote site receiving and shipping.

NBSCIA purchased a four piece set of Ultraslim LCD to allow two axle weighing. Staff could transport the Ultraslims in their personal vehicles.
Units were easy to level and the digital key pad was easy to read, even in sunlight.
NBSCIA found the scales to be accurate compared to harvest yield monitors and highway scales.
For NBSCIA's purpose to check crop yield and estimate tones of manure applied and fertilizer application on test plots the Ultraslim LCD proved to be the best choice.

I wanted to pass on a thank-you from my customer EMS-Tech. Specifically to Marc but also to the others at Massload that were involved but I didn't deal with directly.
Last fall EMS-Tech bought a pair of custom ML-700s to measure cable tension for the winches that manipulate the loading spout at a grain terminal.
All was going well until about 5 weeks ago, when an operator at the terminal bypassed the safety mechanism, overloaded and broke the tension link as well as some other equipment. EMS-Tech has been under a lot of pressure from their customer to put the grain terminal back into service ASAP.
Marc & Massload made every effort to ensure that the custom ML-700 was delivered on time as promised.
Originally, the ML-700 was to be shipped via UPS Express but when Marc found out that UPS could not guarantee delivery, he hand delivered the equipment to Fedex. This saved at least two days and provided the time needed to configure & calibrate the electronics before handing the equipment over to EMS-Tech for installation and commissioning.

We purchased a set of axle pads several years ago and they are very accurate and convenient. When one of the load cells failed, ( I suspect operator abuse, truck slamming on the brakes) Ryan in tech support was amazingly patient, professional and helpful in the diagnostic process. He went above and beyond to help us get the problem resolved.
Our scale was up and running very quickly and is a very useful tool on our farm again.
*Just a side note, the more picky you are regarding the ground work under and ramps leading on and off the pads the more accurate they’ll be. We put a concrete pad underneath them and a level approach and departure ramp for weighing super B’s and are within 10-40 kg consistently of all the other certified scales in our area.
