The Laumas Instrument Manager is a PC-based software for configuring, monitoring, calibrating, and updating the firmware of Laumas weight indicators and transmitters via RS232 or RS485 serial connection to USB. Compatible with Windows 7 and higher, it supports complete parameter management, real-time weight monitoring, guided sample-weight calibration, firmware updates, and legally relevant parameter access control.

Instrument Manager is a dedicated PC software for the complete lifecycle management of Laumas weight indicators and weight transmitters. Used by scale builders, system integrators, and service technicians, it simplifies the configuration, calibration, monitoring, and maintenance of Laumas instruments in both new installations and ongoing service operations — eliminating the need for front-panel programming in complex or multi-instrument environments.

The software connects to a instrument via its RS232 or RS485 serial port using a compatible RS232/USB or RS485/USB converter cable. From a single PC interface, users can create, compare, and print complete instrument configurations; save configurations for later deployment to instruments that are not yet connected; and monitor live weight readings with real-time display of setpoint status, stability, and digital input/output states.

For multichannel weight transmitters, the software visualises the weight distribution across individual load cell channels and displays the mV values read on each channel — supporting equalization and diagnostics on multi-cell platforms. The guided real calibration wizard walks technicians through sample-weight calibration step by step, with real-time weight display and correction support. Firmware updates are handled automatically via internet download, keeping instruments current. Legally relevant parameters for approved instruments are protected behind qualified access control.

Most Common Applications: Initial configuration and commissioning of indicators and transmitters, service and parameter backup for scale maintenance, multichannel load cell platform equalisation, legal-for-trade instrument management.

NBSCIA purchased a four piece set of Ultraslim LCD to allow two axle weighing. Staff could transport the Ultraslims in their personal vehicles. I wanted to pass on a thank-you from my customer EMS-Tech. Specifically to Marc but also to the others at Massload that were involved but I didn't deal with directly. Last fall EMS-Tech bought a pair of custom ML-700s to measure cable tension for the winches that manipulate the loading spout at a grain terminal. All was going well until about 5 weeks ago, when an operator at the terminal bypassed the safety mechanism, overloaded and broke the tension link as well as some other equipment. EMS-Tech has been under a lot of pressure from their customer to put the grain terminal back into service ASAP. Marc & Massload made every effort to ensure that the custom ML-700 was delivered on time as promised. Originally, the ML-700 was to be shipped via UPS Express but when Marc found out that UPS could not guarantee delivery, he hand delivered the equipment to Fedex. This saved at least two days and provided the time needed to configure & calibrate the electronics before handing the equipment over to EMS-Tech for installation and commissioning.

We purchased a set of axle pads several years ago and they are very accurate and convenient. When one of the load cells failed, ( I suspect operator abuse, truck slamming on the brakes) Ryan in tech support was amazingly patient, professional and helpful in the diagnostic process. He went above and beyond to help us get the problem resolved. Our scale was up and running very quickly and is a very useful tool on our farm again. *Just a side note, the more picky you are regarding the ground work under and ramps leading on and off the pads the more accurate they’ll be. We put a concrete pad underneath them and a level approach and departure ramp for weighing super B’s and are within 10-40 kg consistently of all the other certified scales in our area.
