SL S-Type Load Cell
The Laumas SL is an AISI 4340 nickel plated steel S-type tension and compression load cell with OIML R60 C3/C4 & NTEP certification, FM HazLoc approval, and IP67 protection. With combined error ≤ ±0.02% (C3) or ≤ ±0.017% (C4) and an operating range of −35°C to +65°C, it is designed for high-accuracy legal-for-trade and hazardous-location tension weighing across a wide range of industrial capacities.

The SL is a precision AISI 4340 nickel plated steel S-type tension and compression load cell engineered for high-accuracy legal-for-trade and hazardous-area weighing in industrial tank, hopper, and process applications from 25 kg to 2,500 kg (55 lb to 5,512 lb). Available in OIML R60 C3 and C4 accuracy classes — with combined error ≤ ±0.02% at C3 and ≤ ±0.017% at C4 — the SL meets the demanding accuracy requirements of certified commercial weighing across a wide capacity range covering light platform scales to medium industrial hopper and tank applications. IP67 sealing protects the sensor against full immersion and high-pressure water jets in washdown and outdoor environments. The operating temperature range of −35°C to +65°C (−31°F to +149°F) ensures reliable performance in cold winters and hot industrial environments year-round.
The SL is FM HazLoc certified for use in North American classified hazardous locations — covering both the United States and Canada — making it one of the few S-type load cells in its capacity range with full North American hazardous-location approval as a standard product feature rather than an add-on option. NTEP certification is available on request. Ball-and-socket joint accessories (galvanized C40 steel and stainless steel) are available across all capacity sizes for tension bar and misalignment-compensated installations. The SL connects directly to load cell indicators, transmitters, and Analog output signal conditioners for PLC and SCADA integration.
Most Common Applications: Tank and hopper weighing in hazardous-area industrial facilities, suspended tension weighing in food processing and chemical plants, legal-for-trade commercial platform and process scales, force measurement in heavy industrial test rigs, tension bar mechanical scale upgrades.
